The city’s League of Women Voters will host a state representative candidates night at 7 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 10, at Clark Government Center, 119 School Street.

All three candidates for the seat representing Waltham – Independent Sean Diamond, Republican Carly Downs and Democratic Thomas M. Stanley, the incumbent – are scheduled to attend.

The event will follow a set format.

“Each candidate will have an opening statement, three minutes each. Then we are going to go through a list of questions, and each candidate will have the opportunity to answer the question. Each candidate is allowed equal time; two minutes and 30 seconds is the time limit for the response by each candidate. When all the questions are completed, each candidate will have a closing statement,” League of Women Voters of Waltham president Kathleen Luvisi told The Waltham Times.

Attendees will have time after the event to talk with the candidates, Luvisi said.

Voting for state representative will take place with the presidential election on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

The deadline for registering to vote in the upcoming election is Saturday, Oct. 26. Registration information can be found at vote.gov. Registration status can be checked at Find my voter registration status.
