Healthy Waltham food pantry seeks volunteers to help unload food from delivery trucks, sort and bag foods, and distribute food to our neighbors. Volunteer shifts are generally two to four hours long and most activities are outdoors (rain or shine). Volunteers are mainly needed at the Thursday pantries and occasionally on non-pantry days.
Healthy Waltham also accepts donations of unexpired, unopened shelf-stable foods. Please contact them to make an appointment to drop off donations. Deliveries are accepted only at the 5 Cherry St. location (not at their mailing address). For more information, please contact by email or call (781) 314-5647.
Waltham Fields Community Farm welcomes volunteers to work in the farm’s fields during spring, summer and fall seasons, educational garden areas and at the farm’s public events. To make a financial donation for 2024 go to Waltham Fields Annual Appeal.
Chaplains on the Way needs volunteers to prepare and serve breakfast and offer fellowship to members of Waltham’s unhoused community at the Parish Hall, First Parish Church, 50 Church St. Breakfast is served 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and volunteers can specify the time they are available. Africano Waltham seeks donors to provide gift cards for middle school and high school youth at the Africano Waltham Family Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 14. Gift cards from Target, Walmart or Amazon can be dropped off at 703 B Main St.on Dec. 9, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Call Dorothy in advance at (617) 372-3861.
Reach Beyond Domestic Violence Holiday Gift Program is accepting donations of Target gift cards for families who have experienced domestic violence as well as donations of household cleaning supplies, toiletries, books and toys for children, and new or gently used clothing for children.
