Superintendent restarts search for high school principal

Waltham Public Schools superintendent Marisa Mendonsa notified the public school community on Thursday afternoon that she is re-starting the search for the next principal of Waltham High School.
Her announcement comes after last week’s announcement of three finalists for the position and a parent forum this past Tuesday.
“After careful consideration, I have decided not to extend an offer to any of the finalists,” Mendonsa wrote. “This was not an easy decision, but I firmly believe it is the right one. When I became Superintendent, I committed to making decisions that are in the best interest of our students, staff, and caregivers. While all three candidates brought diverse experiences, I ultimately felt that we had not yet found the right fit for our school.”
Mendonsa said she has asked Kate Peretz, the administrator of Human Resources, to immediately re-post for this position and reconvene the search committee.
