Meet Akira and Lafayette, a bonded pair of sweet kitties

Three-year-old Akira was the de facto mayor of The Cat Connection while he was at our shelter. When anyone – whether human or feline – entered The Cat Connection, Akira ran to his pod door to welcome them.
He is the epitome of sweetness and friendliness in a furry orange and white, domestic shorthair package. He had several pod mates during his stay with us. A traditional nose touch and head bump was enough to make each fall madly in love with him.
Akira suffers from idiopathic epilepsy and is looking for an adopter who will give him the extra care he needs. Managing his seizure condition requires two medications, including one that needs to be given three times per day.
Despite his epilepsy, Akira is a ray of sunshine. He is one of the most outgoing and charming kitties you’ll ever meet.
While Akira’s pod mates have been adopted, Akira is still waiting for his forever family. Now in a beautiful foster home, Akira has bonded with a dapper sweetheart, 1-year-old Lafayette. When he first witnessed one of Akira’s seizures, he immediately ran to him to provide snuggles and comfort. It was an absolutely heartwarming and amazing sight. They are now a certified bonded pair.
These two BFFs have told us that they want to be adopted into their forever home together.
The Cat Connection’s adoption process matches each of our cats to the most compatible family. We interview potential adopters thoroughly. Adopting a pet is a big decision.
