Waltham emergency medical services on Wednesday night responded to a call to assist a police officer after the officer was exposed to smoke during a house fire on Baskin Road in Lexington.

Firefighters arrived around 10 p.m. to find smoke coming from the home. Crews quickly contained the fire to a single room.

Officials said the fire may have started from a computer that was left on.
