Suspect arrested on domestic assault and firearms charges

The suspect reportedly jumped from a third-story window at the hotel.
Officers were seen with cash, which may be evidence collected at the scene of the arrest.

A report about an alleged domestic incident in progress led to an arrest at a Winter Street hotel early Sunday afternoon. 

Waltham police responded to the reported incident and after investigating determined that the suspect was wanted in connection with multiple firearms-related charges. These include possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of a loaded firearm and 15 additional violations listed on the suspect’s board of probation.

During the incident, the suspect reportedly jumped from a third-story window at the hotel and fled toward a nearby pool area. Officers located and arrested him shortly after. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Police have not yet released the name, age and address of the suspect.

As the suspect was being taken into custody, an officer was seen holding a plastic bag containing a wad of cash recovered at the scene. It’s unknown at this time whether the money is related to the ongoing investigation.
