Caitlin Zinda graduates from the University of Wisconsin

2021 Waltham High School graduate Caitlin Zinda received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology this past May from the University of Wisconsin. She was among the 9,423 students who received degrees from Wisconsin, which ranks among the nation’s top public universities.

Zinda, who was in the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences, worked as a research assistant at the Knoll Laboratory, studying the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. “My core responsibilities include bioassays, cell culture, flow cytometry, and CRISPR, all of which contribute significantly to our understanding of infectious disease,” she writes on her LinkedIn page. “We recently published some of our findings in Infection and Immunity, where I was a co-author.”

Summer internships during her college years included stints at Alkermes and Bristol Myers Squibb. Zinda aspires to a career in immunology and molecular disease research.
