Two hospitalized with severe injuries after vehicle and scooter collide

Just before 11 p.m. Friday night, emergency crews responded to a serious crash in the area of 537 Main St. involving two individuals who were reportedly struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter. First responders arrived to find both victims suffering from traumatic injuries. One individual required CPR at the scene and was observed being treated with a LUCAS mechanical chest compression device.

Firefighters, Armstrong paramedics and Waltham police worked urgently to stabilize the victims before they were transported to area hospitals. Their current conditions have not been released. Due to the severity of the collision, the Waltham Police Department’s accident reconstruction unit is actively investigating.
