Car collides with utility pole at Amherst and Lake streets

Emergency crews responded to the area of Amherst Avenue and Lake Street around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday after a car collided with a utility pole.

Upon arrival, first responders located a vehicle with deployed airbags and visible damage. National Grid crews were called to examine the pole for safety concerns.

The driver, who sustained minor injuries, was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The crash remains under investigation.
