First Parish Clothing Exchange opens for the season

The Clothing Exchange is in the basement of First Parish Church.

As cooler weather arrives, First Parish’s Waltham Clothing Exchange thrift shop has reopened for the fall season. The shop is open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Dec. 16. Additionally, it is open on two Saturdays, Oct. 4 and 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“There is plenty of good stuff,” said Joel and Susan Weddig, co-directors of the shop. “Clothing for men, women, children and infants, toys, games, crafts, housewares, small appliances, giftware, linens, lamps, artwork, jewelry, shoes, handbags, accessories, holiday items and more!” The inventory changes every week.

The consignment/thrift store is in its 68th year serving the Waltham community. It is located on the lower level of the First Parish in Waltham, a Unitarian Universalist church. The volunteer-run shop is a church project that supports social justice and the environment.

First Parish is located at the corner of Church and School streets and the building is accessible. MBTA buses have stops near the building, and the Waltham Senior Center bus will drop by on request.

Additionally, a National Epilepsy Foundation donation bin for clothing and other textiles is located on church grounds at the rear left side of the building.
