Breyson Eduardo Barrera Pineda, 23, of 24 Lexington Terrace, Waltham, was arrested Oct. 1 by Massachusetts State Police and charged with trafficking 200 grams or more of cocaine.

Pineda was arraigned on Oct. 2 in Waltham District Court on the charges. Waltham District Court Judge Matthew Leo McGrath sent Pineda to Middlesex Jail in Billerica in lieu of his $30,000 bail. McGrath also ordered Pineda to surrender his passport.
Pineda’s arrest follows an investigation involving federal, state and local agents.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations Task Force notified Massachusetts State Police on Sept. 26 about a package addressed to Jose Ubdulio Garcia Interiano, 24 Lexington Terrace, Apt. 1, Waltham, that allegedly contained approximately 858.90 grams of cocaine seized. U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Ohio had seized the package.
According to a police report, at approximately noon on Oct. 1 an undercover officer knocked on the door of 24 Lexington Terrace, Apt. 1, and delivered a package containing four bags of a powdery white substance to Pineda.
The police report said Pineda responded affirmatively when the undercover officer asked him to confirm the address as 24 Lexington Terrace, Apt.1, and Jose Ubdulio Garcia as the package’s recipient.
Pineda later told officers that he didn’t know Garcia Interiano and only stated he did because he had received packages belonging to neighbors previously, according to the police report.
The police report noted that officers could not locate any individuals with the name Jose Ubdulio Garcia Interiano in law enforcement databases.
After Pineda received the package, HSI investigators executed a search warrant at his residence and seized U.S. currency, cell phones and the package that undercover officers had delivered.
The package originated from Zacapa, Guatemala, and is pending official weight analysis by the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory.
Pineda is scheduled to appear at Waltham District Court for a probable cause hearing on Oct. 30.
