Veterans Day in Waltham and holiday schedule

Dedicated bricks at the Circle of Remembrance. City of Waltham.

The City of Waltham will observe Veterans Day on Tuesday, Nov. 11, with a ceremony honoring all who have served, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Circle of Remembrance on Waltham Common.

Hosted by the city’s Veterans’ Services Department and the Waltham Allied Veterans’ Council, the event will feature remarks and tributes to local veterans. Following the ceremony, the 19th annual Brick Dedication will take place at the Circle of Remembrance.

All veteran groups will assemble at 10:30 a.m. in the Elm Street parking lot behind City Hall. From there, they will march in formation to the Common for the observances.

In observance of Veterans Day

  • All Waltham city offices, the Waltham Public Library and Waltham Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
  • Parking will be free at all pay stations on Nov. 11.
  • There will be no trash and recycling collection on Nov. 11. Pickup will be delayed one day the rest of the week.

    The dates on the brick are the veteran’s years of service, rather than birth and death. This year’s deadline for purchasing bricks for engraving is June 8, 2026.
