Janice Buontempo, 1946–2026, was ‘always ready to offer kindness, support and encouragement’

Janice R. Buontempo, of Waltham, MA, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026. She was 79.
Born to the late Howard J. Murray and Rita (Grenier) Murray, in Waltham, MA. and a lifelong resident of Waltham Janice was a woman of strong faith, unwavering dedication and a deep love for her family. She was a devoted mother, loving sister, cherished aunt and a loyal friend to many.
Janice was known for her diligent work ethic and took great pride in her career as a housekeeper, a role she faithfully served for over 35 years. Her commitment, reliability and caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew and worked with her.
Above all else, Janice treasured her family. She found her greatest joy in the simple moments spent with loved ones and was always ready to offer kindness, support and encouragement.
Janice will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
Survived by her beloved daughter Charlene Buontempo and grandson Zachary Coxall. She also leaves her loving sisters, Barbara Negrotti of West Newton, Deborah Murray of Waltham, Shelia Graves of Attleboro, and nieces, nephews and dear friends, all who will cherish her loving memory.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to gather and remember Janice and the love she shared with us all during visiting hours on Thursday, Jan. 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels, located 773 Moody Street Waltham, MA. A funeral Service in celebration of Janice’s life will begin at 12 p.m., followed by interment at Mt. Feake Cemetery, located at 203 Prospect Street.
