Crews from the Waltham Fire Department assisted Watertown firefighters at a two-alarm house fire Tuesday afternoon that sent thick black smoke over a neighborhood on Flint Road.

Heavy fire broke out on the third floor and attic of the residence, drawing mutual aid companies from surrounding communities, officials said.

Firefighters worked under difficult conditions, as freezing temperatures and snow from Monday’s storm made access to hydrants and firefighting operations more challenging.

All residents were able to safely evacuate, and no injuries were reported.
