Maximino Jimenez, 1941–2026, former member of Waltham Police Department

Maximino “Max” Jimenez, of Waltham, formerly of Marlborough, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 84.
Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico on Nov. 18, 1941, he was the beloved son of the late Regino and Catalina Jimenez (Bonilla).
Max was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and dear friend. Kind, caring and a man of great faith, he loved people and people loved him. He was very sociable, with a smile that could light up any room he entered. Max was a proud member of his neighborhood walking club and enjoyed staying active while connecting with friends and neighbors.
With an extraordinary work ethic, Max pursued higher education before beginning a distinguished career with the Waltham Police Department. As a proud member of the department, he served his community as a protector, partner and dedicated public servant, always prioritizing the well-being of the residents of Waltham. Throughout his time in law enforcement, he was deeply involved in community organizing, maintaining high ethical standards and fostering honest communication with those he served.
Later in his career, Max transitioned into the corporate world, where he took on a leadership role as a manager at Raytheon Corporation. In this position, he led with integrity, empathy and respect, earning the admiration of colleagues and those he mentored.
Max was truly a man of culture with worldly experience and refined taste. He had a unique gift for selecting only the very best in life, whether it was food, music, travel or company. Above all else, Max dearly loved his wife, family, and friends. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those around him will be remembered always.
Predeceased by his loving parents and his dear siblings, Elisa A. Jimenez and Jose Jimenez.
Max is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Germaine Jimenez (Doiron) of Waltham; his beloved daughter, Betsy and her family; his brothers, with whom he shared a special bond, Domingo Jimenez of Waltham, Ismael Jimenez of Nebraska, Felix Jimenez and his wife Jacinta of Waltham, Israel Jimenez and his wife Janet of Medfield, and Angel R. Jimenez of Parker, Colorado; his dear sister-in-laws, Annette and her husband Efrain Diana, Leona and her husband Marcelino Cotto and Dianna Doiron; and his brother-in-laws, Jean-Paul Doiron and his partner Lisette Springer, Guy Doiron and his partner Ali Ward. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to gather and remember Max during visiting hours on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, located 773 Moody Street Waltham. A funeral service in celebration of Max’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Feake Cemetery.
