Celebrate Local News Day with The Waltham Times

The demise of local papers is a nationwide crisis. Thousands of newspapers have gone out of business, leaving millions of people without accurate local news and information.

“We couldn’t let that happen to our neighbors,” said June Kinoshita, a Waltham resident since 2003 who co-founded The Waltham Times two years ago.

City residents are invited to join The Waltham Times team over lunch or after work on Thursday, April 9, to celebrate Local News Day, a nationwide event recognizing the essential role local news outlets play in keeping residents informed.

Times subscribers are encouraged to invite a friend who doesn’t know about The Waltham Times and the vital importance of local news.

Attendees are invited to share ideas for stories the Times should be covering. “Give us some tips and leads,” said Steve Milmore, assistant editor at The Waltham Times. “Help shape the news that matters. We’re all ears.”
