June Kinoshita
Board Chair. Executive committee. A Waltham resident since 2003, June has been a writer and editor for Scientific American, Science, The New York Times Magazine, among others. She co-founded the Alzheimer Research Forum and N-of-One. She recently stepped down from a 13-year career in senior leadership at the FSHD Society, a rare disease advocacy organization.
Caroline A. Grossman
Vice chair. Executive committee. With three decades working in communications, public affairs and public-health advocacy, Caroline has used storytelling and art to move people: Why should I care? Why should I believe? Caroline has served on nonprofit boards and as an adviser to Waltham, state and national nonprofits as well as government committees dedicated to strengthening communities through health, environment, housing and education initiatives. A member of the Society for News Design, she is the pro bono graphic designer of The Waltham Times.
Mary K. Pratt
Executive and finance committee. Mary Pratt is an award-winning freelance journalist based in Waltham. She has covered various subjects ranging from community news to fashion to health and fitness during her 30-plus year career. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including newspapers, magazines and trade journals. She now writes mostly about information technology and cybersecurity topics.
Richard Brennan
Treasurer. Executive committee. Richard Brennan recently retired from his position as distinguished scientist and scientific adviser with Sanofi, ensuring the safety of new and existing medicines. Richard serves as a director/trustee of Lhasa Ltd., a UK-based educational charity that develops software to assist in chemical and drug safety assessment, where he contributes to oversight, governance and development. Dedicated to supporting the development of young scientists, he volunteers as a mentor and judge for the Massachusetts Science and Engineering Fair. An avid music fan, Richard lives in Waltham’s Cedarwood neighborhood with his wife, Penny, and their dog, Ciara.
Betsey Dalbeck
Board Secretary. Betsey Dalbeck is president of Fresh Tracks Inc., a consulting firm that integrates strategy, business and wilderness leadership with her personally curated coaching toolkit. She draws on her previous experiences, which include working in account management at Leo Burnett and Doyle Dane Bernbach (DDB) and creative management at J. Walter Thompson (JWT) and Hill Holliday. She took a sabbatical to study with the National Outdoor Leadership School in Alaska’s frontier. As a new Waltham resident, she is delighted to join the board of directors of The Waltham Times and share her talents and insights while learning more about her community.
Victoria Fils-Aime
Marketing and revenue committee. Raised in Martinique before settling in Waltham, Massachusetts, Victoria attended elementary through graduate school in Waltham, earning recognition as the 2015 Boys & Girls Club Massachusetts Youth of the Year and the 2015 Waltham Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year. She was awarded the prestigious Myra Kraft Scholarship, which provided a full scholarship to Brandeis University. At Brandeis, Victoria earned a masters in global health management. With experience across biotechnology, the nonprofit sector, and the tech space, she has contributed to initiatives that support youth, community engagement, and meaningful change, while also driving efficiency and supporting organizational success.
Bob Perry
Finance committee. Bob Perry is executive director of the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation. A graduate of Northeastern University with a bachelor of science in finance, he also serves on the board of directors of the Downtown Waltham Partnership and the advisory council of the Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts. He was a co-founder and chair of Waltham Local First.
Mirna Vidal
Marketing and revenue committee. Mirna Vidal is site manager of Charles River Community Health in Waltham. She has worked there since 2011, after earning her credentials to become a dental assistant. She and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1999 and settled in Waltham. She worked as a housecleaner and nanny while learning English and eventually decided to pursue a career in healthcare after being inspired by the quality of care she received at Joseph Smith (now Charles River Community Health). She has three children and two grandchildren.
Scott Ziegler
Marketing and revenue committee. Scott Ziegler worked in community news and national publishing for 40 years as classified manager and senior account executive for The Tab newspapers, advertising director at Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, associate publisher at Continental Airlines Magazine, director of business development at Today’s General Counsel, and publisher at Horseman’s Yankee Pedlar/Equine Journal.

Ellen Clegg
Ellen Clegg presided over the Pulitzer Prize-winning opinion and editorial pages of The Boston Globe from 2014-2018 and is co-author with Dan Kennedy of Northeastern University of ”What Works in Community News: Media Startups, News Deserts, and the Future of the Fourth Estate” (Beacon Press, 2024). Clegg is co-founder and editorial adviser for the nonprofit independent news outlet Brookline.News. She co-teaches a news laboratory for journalism students at Brandeis University.
Meghan B. Kelly
Meghan B. Kelly is an experienced journalist, working for nearly 20 years in local journalism. She began her career as a reporter for several local Gatehouse New England (now Gannett) publicans. She later worked for Patch as a local editor, and she was also the digital editor at the MetroWest Daily News in Framingham for several years. She has been at WBUR, Boston’s NPR, since 2017 and works as a senior editor for audience engagement and platforms, in charge of the station’s social media and visual storytelling.
Adriana Lacy
Adriana Lacy is an award-winning journalist and entrepreneur based in Boston. As the founder and chief executive officer of Adriana Lacy Consulting, she leads a dynamic digital consulting firm, empowering publishers and businesses to grow their digital audiences. With prior newsroom experience including at The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Axios, she brings a wealth of expertise to her endeavors. Adriana also serves as an adjunct lecturer in journalism, sharing her extensive knowledge with aspiring journalists. Her exceptional contributions to the field were acknowledged when she received the Forbes 30 Under 30 accolade in 2023.
Nicco Mele
Nicco Mele is a recognized expert at the intersection of news, technology and politics. In 2023 he advised the National Trust for Local News on their acquisition and conversion to a nonprofit of Masthead Maine, a group of newspapers that includes the Portland Press Herald. From 2016 to 2019, Nicco was the director of the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. He previously served as the senior vice president and deputy publisher of the Los Angeles Times. Mele also founded The Lexington Observer. He is currently a venture partner at Draper Richards Kaplan, where he serves on the board of the News Revenue Hub, City Bureau, Define American and Recidiviz.
Paul Solman
Paul Solman is the longtime business, economics and occasional art correspondent for PBS NewsHour. A graduate of Brandeis University (1966), where he was editor of the school newspaper, The Justice, Solman became founding editor of the alternative Boston weekly The Real Paper in 1972. He began his career in business journalism as a Nieman Fellow. He was the co-originator and executive editor of PBS’s business documentary series ENTERPRISE. His work has been recognized with eight Emmys, five Peabodys, a Loeb award and a James Beard award for media. Solman’s current focus is the American Exchange Project, which he co-founded.
