Vehicle collides with police motorcycle, officer sent to hospital

On Tuesday around 6 p.m., a Waltham Police motorcycle officer was involved in a motor vehicle collision while responding to an emergency call for service.

According to the Waltham Police Department, the officer was navigating through heavy traffic when the collision occurred with another vehicle in the area of 730 Main St. The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The operator of the vehicle was not reported injured.

The incident is under investigation.
