Patricia Landry, 1935–2025, loving mother and grandmother who “supported her family with quiet strength”

Patricia A. Landry, of Waltham, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4 2025 at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was 90.
Patricia was born in Boston on Aug. 11 1935, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Preston) Segien. Raised in Waltham, she graduated from St. Mary’s High School and remained a lifelong resident.
She married Paul J. Landry, and they shared a life together for 49 years until his death in 2005. Pat supported her family with quiet strength, raising their children and cherishing time with them above everything, whether it was gathering for meals or just being together with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pat loved a good horror movie, and enjoyed reading mystery, crime and romance novels, often disappearing into her Kindle for hours. With a hot cup of coffee always nearby, she kept up with the latest headlines from the Boston Globe, Herald, and Tribune. Current events fascinated her, and she delighted in sparking conversations, leaning in with an eager, “Did you hear about this?” before sharing her own take. Pat had a special bond with all of her beloved cats throughout the years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul J. Landry; her son, John P. “Bomber” Landry; her grandson, Anthony Mazzapica; and her brother, Richard Segien.
Pat leaves her daughters, Paula J. Inch (Jim) of Munson, Christine L. Landry of Waltham, Linda M. Landry (Ronnie Mattos) of Waltham, and Elizabeth M. Auger of Waltham; her daughter-in-law, Cassandra Landry of Venice FL; her son, Richard J. Landry (Rhonda) of Framingham; her grandchildren, Adam Landry (Lisa), Joshua Surette, Danielle Landry (Dan), Carly Surette, Michael Landry (Jamie), Mallory Landry (Katie), Catherine Mello, Victoria Moritz (Jon), Paul Landry, and Anthony Lucchese; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Pat’s life by gathering for a visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, with her funeral service at 12 p.m. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
