Feeding our neighbors: Youth make sandwiches for the Community Day Center

Children at Newton Highlands Congregational Church made sandwiches for the Community Day Center of Waltham on Sunday, Dec. 7. “We make sandwiches and donate other food items as part of our church’s Christian education program,” said Wendy Donnell, director of Christian education for the church.

Dev Franklin from the Waltham Community Day Center participated in the event. 

The youngsters made sandwiches during the church’s annual Advent market, where congregants can purchase “gifts that do good,” with all proceeds donated to local nonprofits.
