Born on Sep. 14, 1949, in Wellesley, MA, Chickie was the daughter of the late Austin and Mary (McCourt). Raised in Waltham, she was a proud graduate of Waltham High School and remained deeply rooted in the community she loved throughout her life.
Chickie married the love of her life, William J. “Bill” Hines, and together they shared 48 devoted years of marriage. A woman of deep faith, Chickie was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Parish in Waltham, where her generosity was evident through decades of service. She volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society for more than 20 years, freely giving her time, talents and compassion to those in need.
Strong-willed, dedicated and hardworking, Chickie spent a combined total of 42 years as a Medical Secretary at Waltham and Faulkner Hospitals. Her professionalism was matched by her kindness and care for others.
She found great joy in volunteering for her church, cooking and feeding others, attending her son’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and spending cherished time with family. She especially loved family vacations to Hampton Beach and Disney World with her grandchildren. Above all, her most treasured roles in life were those of a devoted wife, loving mother and adoring grandmother.
