City councilors and local celebrities helped ring the bell for the City of Waltham Red Kettle Takeover at Market Basket on Dec. 13. The groups helped raise more than $1,000 for The Salvation Army of Waltham’s local social services. The Salvation Army of Waltham supports community members locally by providing gifts to children and supporting food programs, emergency services, and utility assistance programs year-round.

Ward 9 City Councilor Robert Logan, Ward 8 City Councilor Cathyann Harris, and Ward 7 City Councilor Paul Katz showed up to ring the bell. They were joined by WROR’s Bob Bronson and Country 102.5’s Ben Beaulieu.

The Salvation Army Massachusetts Division is setting out to raise more than $2.25 million to help support critical year-round social services through this year’s Red Kettle Campaign. “With donations down this holiday season, we are seeking volunteers and support in the final stretch leading up to the holidays,” said a media spokesperson for the organization.
