The City Council will have its first meeting of the year on Monday, Jan. 13.
City Council meetings are open to the public and take place in the Council Chamber, located on the second floor of City Hall at 610 Main St.
City Council meetings typically take place biweekly on Monday nights at 7:30 p.m. Meetings usually take place on the second and fourth Monday of each month, though there are occasionally exceptions.
City committees also meet biweekly, on alternate weeks to City Council meetings.
The first committee meeting night of 2025 will be Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Committee meetings take place in City Hall, with different committees meeting in different rooms. Committees that meet frequently include the Committee of the Whole, the Ordinances and Rules Committee, the Public Works and Public Safety Committee, and the Licenses and Franchises Committee.
Committee meetings are also open to the public.
The agenda for each meeting of the council and of committees can be accessed ahead of time on the city website, though sometimes there are last minute changes or additions to the agenda.
School Committee meeting schedule
The Waltham School Committee will have its first meeting of 2025 at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 8.
School Committee meetings are open to the public and are held at the old Waltham High School building located at 617 Lexington St. Meetings take place in the Cannon Lecture Hall on the first floor of the building.
School Committee meetings generally begin at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month.
