Waltham police recovered a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and a high-capacity magazine from a motor vehicle stop on Crescent Street.
Janessa Morrero, 21, of 134 Anderson Rd, Marlboro, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, one count of resisting arrest, two counts of carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm and possession of ammunition without a firearms license, according to a Police Department post.
Julia Gaudet, 21, of 16 Winter St., Waltham, was arrested and charged with two counts of carrying a firearm without a license, one count of possession of a large-capacity firearm, and possession of ammunition without a firearms license.
Additional public safety actions
A summary of additional police activity from Jan. 3 through Jan. 9 is as follows:
Police responded to nine 911 hangup calls on Friday, Jan. 3.
Also on that day, Deborah Barrios, 53, homeless, of Waltham was arrested and charged at 1:16 p.m. on a warrant for shoplifting by asportation.
On Saturday, Jan. 4., at 2:20 a.m., police responded to a fire at the intersection of Outlook and Trapelo roads.
Police also responded to 10 calls of proximity or burglary alarms being tripped at various addresses on the same day.
On Jan. 5, John Mugabado, 45, of 22 Daniels Court, Waltham, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. and charged with the operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. According to police notes, it is Mugabado’s first OUI offense.
At 1:30 p.m. police responded to a report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run at 110 Clark St.
Various other calls were recorded throughout the day, including multiple 911 hang-ups, motor vehicle repossessions, and proximity alarm trippings.
On Jan. 6, police responded to a larceny of a motor vehicle at 52 Fourth Ave. Police also responded to a report of a sudden death that day.
On Jan. 7, Jason Leblanc, 46, homeless, of Waltham, was arrested and charged at 3:03 p.m. on a warrant for assault and battery on a family or household member.
Police on Jan. 7 also responded to two separate larceny calls, one at 88 Lexington St, and another at TJ Maxx at 848 Lexington St.
On Jan. 8, police responded to two motor vehicle accidents and a hit-and-run.
On Jan. 9, police were called to an accident at 126 Smith St.
