The City Council on Monday night will hear a petition from 1265 Main Street LLC and J&Co. to build a six-story hotel on Main Street. The proposed hotel would include several amenities including 135 parking spaces, a restaurant and a bar.

Other items on the Sept. 23 council agenda include an expected request from Mayor Jeannette McCarthy for $350,000 for a curb and sidewalk project at the Elm Street railroad crossing.

Additionally, the Finance Committee will recommend $396,048 for fencing work at 190 Trapelo Road, part of the Fernald School property, and a $1.75 million financing plan for Elson Road improvements.

The Long Term Debt & Capital Planning Committee will recommend authorizing a $2.7 million loan for pedestrian access improvements at Veterans Rink on Totten Pond Road.

The City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 23, 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber at Waltham City Hall. City Council meetings are open to the public.
