Court Report: Waltham man sentenced in connection with 2023 shooting
A Waltham man was sentenced in connection to the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Shelson Jules that took place on May 22, 2023, according to the Waltham Police Department.
Strawensky Cebeat, 22, of 98 Charlesbank Way, Waltham, recently pleaded guilty to accessory to murder (after the fact) and tampering with evidence. For the accessory to murder charge, he was sentenced from three years and 96 days to five years in state prison. Cebeat also received four years of probation for tampering with evidence.
Josh Pierre, 23, also of Waltham, was recently convicted of involuntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm without a license in connection with the case.
In an email to The Waltham Times, the WPD stated that the case will end with Pierre’s sentencing at Middlesex Superior Court on May 27.
“We are grateful the extensive criminal investigation resulted in a guilty verdict,” a spokesperson from the WPD said in a statement shared with The Waltham Times.

In Waltham District Court, Robert Tehan, 54, of 18 Shore Road, Waltham, pleaded not guilty to assault and battery on a household or family member and strangulation or suffocation at his May 21 arraignment. Tehan was released on the condition that he stays away from the victim and has no contact with the victim. His pretrial session is scheduled for July 1.
