Join us for a Haitian folkloric dance workshop with Jean Appolon Expressions on the library lawn!
Class begins with a cardio warm-up, and then goes through movements in several different rhythms from Haitian folklore. Class will be accompanied by live drummers! You won’t want to miss this special event!
Jean Appolon Expressions (JAE) is a Boston-based dance organization that blends Haitian folkloric and contemporary styles. Founded by Jean Appolon, JAE creates a unique artistic vernacular that educates audiences about Haitian culture, traditions, history, and current issues. JAE has performed at major venues such as Jacob’s Pillow, the Boston Center for the Arts, the MFA Boston, the ICA, and many more.
