In Conversation: Jenna Gribbon [Virtual Program]

The people closest to Jenna Gribbon have become the enduring subjects of her paintings, but likeness is only the beginning. In this virtual conversation, the artist will be joined by The New Yorker staff writer Naomi Fry to reflect on the ideas, relationships, and philosophical questions that have shaped Gribbon’s practice, on the occasion of her first museum survey, “Jenna Gribbon: Entwined.”

Together, they will explore Gribbon’s distinctive approach to painting, the collaborative nature of her portraits, and the ways in which her work challenges conventional notions of representation, intimacy, and observation.
