The musical duo Sultana will perform “History and Legends through Song” at the Gore Place Carriage House. The program of songs and history visits fascinating historical or legendary characters and events, from ancient Mesopotamia and Medieval Europe to the Old West and into more modern times. Subjects include the first known author, a character from Arthurian legend, an epic medieval battle, the first museum, a renowned radio broadcast, and more. “History and Legends through Song” is part of the “Live Music Making History Live” series.
Sultana is Jon and Li Waterman. Songwriters and musicians, they have performed their music and history programs in venues throughout New England as part of “Live Music Making History Live.” The series was designed to encourage the celebration and exploration of history through music. The program is supported in part by a grant from the Waltham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
The entire admission charge will support the Gore Place Museum. $21 for non-members, $19 for members, and $5 card to culture.
