Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra November Concert
Nov 1. @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Our season opener will present beloved music as well as music not often heard live. Smyth’s “The Wreckers” Overture will take you to a fictional place in Cornwall, England, where the villagers engage in shipwreck plunder for their survival. Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” is a beloved piece inspired by paintings of the composer’s friend, Viktor Hartmann. Dvorak’s beautiful Cello Concerto will feature soloist Hayden Ren, winner of the WPO’s Student Concerto Competition. All in all, a very exciting program that you won’t want to miss!
