Watch City Readers: Kitchen Princess

Kitchen Princess is an award-winning manga series set in modern-day Japan. The “cooking romance” story follows Najika Kazami, a cheerful 13-year-old girl who searches for a mysterious boy who rescued her from drowning as a young girl and brought a little happiness to her life after her parents’ death. She loves to cook and enrolls in a cooking school where adventures and recipes await.
Tweens and teens! Join Jessica in reading this delicious book series written by Miyuki Kobayashi and illustrated by Natsumi Ando! This month’s episode features a sweet manga series about a young student chef who is trying to solve a mystery behind a silver spoon. Romance, sweetness, and the books even have recipes!
Jessica Lucci produces a monthly program called Watch City Readers. It is a literacy show focused on building excitement for reading in tweens and teens. Watch City Readers is funded through a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Waltham Cultural Council.
