DESCRIPTION:Jean Shin transforms discarded objects into monumental sculptures that invite us to reconsider consumerism and identity. Shin’s 1999 installation “Alterations\,” currently on view as a centerpiece of the group show “Fabricated Imaginaries: Crafting Art\,” was reinstalled this year by the artist for the first time since its creation. In this virtual event the artist will discuss the formal and thematic through lines from “Alterations” to her most recent artworks with Dr. Gannit Ankori and Dr. Amy Kahng. \nThis event will be held virtually via Zoom webinar.
