DESCRIPTION:Walk in the paw-prints of the Lyman family’s beloved pets on the rolling paths and garden trails of the 37-acre Lyman Estate! Well-behaved\, leashed dogs are welcome to join their owners on this edition of the Lyman Estate landscape tour. Enjoy the outdoors together while learning about the fascinating history of the grounds. \nTour will meet at the front door of the mansion and will run rain or shine. The greenhouses\, one of the oldest surviving complexes in the country\, will be open 9:30-4:00 and participants can visit before or after the tour. \nThe Lyman Estate landscape tour will also be offered on July 19\, August 16\, September 20 and October 18. \nAccessibility Considerations: This outdoor tour involves traversing uneven surfaces and some stairs for 90 minutes. \nPlease call 617-994-6672 for more information. \n

DESCRIPTION:Come help the local landscape breathe by cutting down Japanese knotweed along the Charles River Path during the Waltham Land Trust’s first big knotweed cutting event based out of Shaw’s in years! \nInstruction on stopping the spread of knotweed\, trash bags\, gloves\, and tools will be provided. Please bring loppers and work gloves if you have them. Also bring water and sunscreen\, and dress to protect yourself from poison ivy\, mosquitoes and ticks. Ideally this involves wearing long pants/sleeves and closed-toe shoes.
