DESCRIPTION:Gore Place presents a Jane Austen garden party on the grounds of their beautiful 19th-century estate—a site fit for one of the celebrated author’s famous novels. \nYour event ticket includes tea sandwiches and assorted patisseries provided by Vintage Tea & Cake Co.\, plus lemonade and iced tea. You’ll enjoy archery\, lawn games\, live music\, and a stroll through the fabulous Gore Mansion. Regency Period dress is encouraged! \nThe tea will be held under our spacious tent. Tables and chairs will be provided\, but you may bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets if you wish. This event is intended for adults\, but children 11 and up may attend. \nThere will be ample free parking. The entire site is accessible\, and modern indoor restrooms will be available. \nGore Place and JASNA members may select the Member pricing options.

DESCRIPTION:Led by guitarist Ruth Rappaport and her fiddler son\, Ben Wetherbee\, this intergenerational band’s repertoire includes rousing\, powerful old-time fiddle tunes and traditional\, modern and original songs that feature tight harmony singing. They are very spirited\, and people of all ages love their enthusiastic and innovative music. Ruth played for many years in the eclectic string band The Poodles\, and Ben has made a mark for himself as a popular old-time\, roots rock and alt music fiddler. The string band is rounded out by Joel Wennerstrom on clawhammer banjo and Gian Criscitiello on upright bass.

DESCRIPTION:Visit the Carriage House at Gore Place for an extended 3-hour Traditional Skills Workshop* and try your hand at weaving on a loom! Each participant will create 4 woven coasters (aka “mug rugs”). \nWeaving expert Beth Guertin will guide you in how to use a four-shaft loom to weave the warp into multiple twill patterns and a plain weave. After the workshop\, Beth will bring the weaving home to do the final felting and cutting process\, then return the mug rugs to Gore Place the following Saturday to be picked up at your convenience. \nAll supplies will be provided. \nSpace is limited\, so make sure to reserve your spot! \n*Traditional Skills Workshops are intended for teens and adults only.
