DESCRIPTION:Please join the Jane Austen Society of North America Massachusetts Chapter for a presentation by Jennifer Rose on “Her Persuasion: Adapting Austen” \nThis event will also be available on Zoom\nTo register\, go to jasnama.org \nAdapting classics for modern audiences is a popular (and sometimes even controversial) pastime. In her talk\, Jennifer Rose will discuss how she and other writers have approached the task of adapting Austen’s work. She will also read from her manuscript\, Her Persuasion\, a contemporary version of Austen’s Persuasion\, in which the long-estranged lovers are two women. \nJennifer Rose is the author of two books of poetry\, as well as a writer of creative non-fiction. She serves on the JASNA Massachusetts steering committee. \nJASNA members $10 | Non-members $15\nStudent memberships are free through 2025 in honor of Austen’s 250th birthday.
