2025 motor vehicle excise tax bills have been mailed
The City of Waltham Treasurer’s Office mailed 2025 motor vehicle excise tax bills on Feb. 20.
Excise tax payments are due March 24.
Payments can be made online here. Residents who are mailing payments should allow enough time for their payments to be delivered by the due date.
Note that the excise bill number changes each year. The current excise bill number and license plate number are required for payments.
Residents who do not receive an excise tax bill should contact the Treasurer’s Office at (781) 314-3250 to request a copy.
Residents who have questions about their vehicle’s assessed value or no longer own their vehicle should contact the Assessor’s Office at (781) 314-3200.
Residents who do not pay their excise tax bill will not be able to renew their license and vehicle registration.
