Court Report: Quincy man awaits pre-trial hearing for charges on stolen car and credit card

A Quincy man awaits a June 16 pre-trial hearing at Waltham District Court after pleading innocent to receiving a stolen vehicle, receiving a stolen credit card, improper use of a credit card, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property.
According to a report by Waltham Police, Martin Mullen, 38, of 39 Broad St., Quincy, was arrested on charges resulting from a March 26 investigation that followed a report of a stolen wallet and credit card at the Courtyard Marriott at 387 Winter St.
The reporting party discovered that her credit card and wallet were missing from her car after she had parked it at the Alewife MBTA station earlier that night. According to police, she found multiple unauthorized charges on her card, one being from the Winter Street Marriott.
Police allege that Mullen had booked a room with the reporting party’s card, noting that they made that determination after interviewing a hotel employee. Police also reported that Mullen entered the hotel while they were interviewing the reporting party and that the stolen card was reportedly found in one of his pockets. Mullen was also found with car keys even though he did not possess a driver’s license.
According to court records, Mullen fled on foot when officers attempted to arrest him but he was caught and handcuffed.
Using the car keys found in Mullen’s pocket, an officer was able to locate a vehicle parked in the hotel parking lot. Inside the vehicle was the reporting party’s wallet as well as multiple cards belonging to Mullen.
While booking Mullen at the police station, Police reportedly found a Columbian passport in his possession with a different name on it.
Mullen was arraigned on March 28 and was released on the conditions that he show up to his pretrial hearing and take his prescribed medication.
