Court Report: Warrant issued after Dorchester man failed to appear in court

A default warrant has been issued for a Dorchester man after he failed to appear in Waltham District Court for a suspended license charge.

On June 30, Quarmise Epps, 24, of 706 Washington St., Dorchester, failed to appear in court for a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and exceeding the rate of the speed limit posted. 

The charge stems from a traffic incident on June 29 at 3:18 a.m. in the area of Trapelo Road at Pine Vale Road. Using speed radar, police stopped Epps after he was found to be driving 65 MPH in a 35-MPH zone, according to police records. Police said Epps did not have his licence in his possession, and an identity check verified that his license was suspended. 

Epps was then placed into custody by police and was later released. 

Trespassing charge filed for Dorchester woman 

A Dorchester woman was found responsible for trespassing at the Extended Stay America Hotel on Fourth Street. 

On June 27 in Waltham District Court, Ngozi Odimegwu, 34, of 16 Norwell St., Dorchester, had a charge filed after being found responsible for trespassing at the hotel. Since the charge was filed, Odimegwu will not be criminally penalized for the offense. 

The charge stemmed from an incident on June 26 when a manager for Extended Stay America contacted police for an unpaid hotel bill. The manager asked Odimegwu to come to the lobby within an hour to pay the hotel bill or she would be asked to leave the hotel, according to police records. Records indicate that management used a master key to access Odimegwu’s hotel room and read a full formal trespass notice, urging her to leave or be subject to arrest. 

After her refusal to leave the hotel, Odimegwu was placed under arrest, according to police records.
