Free back-to-school haircuts by MOBAR

Village Bank and MOBAR of Waltham will be offering free back-to-school haircuts for kids on Thursday, Aug. 21, from 3 to 7 p.m. on the corner of Moody and Crescent streets. No appointment necessary.

Update: Global Thrift is donating 100 backpacks filled with school supplies during this event. See their Facebook post below.

MOBAR was established in 2016 by Candido “Coco” Fernandez, a Waltham native. Through a combination of skill, charisma and luck, Fernandez has become the go-to barber for many Boston Celtics players. The opportunity to get a haircut by the barber to the sports stars may be just the motivation kids need to sit still long enough to get their summer hair tidied up and ready for school.

Music, food and fun activities will be provided through Healthy Waltham, Shopper’s Cafe, Jocos Bar & Kitchen and Global Thrift.
