Waltham city councilors rang bells at the Red Kettle at the Market Basket on Friday, Dec. 12. The event raised almost $1,500 for the Salvation Army to support critical year-round social services.

With just one week remaining until Christmas, donations are currently down approximately 24% compared to this time last year, according to The Salvation Army Massachusetts Division. The organization is rallying the community to finish the Red Kettle Campaign strong to “help ensure every family in need experiences the joy of the season.”
