Fire on Taylor Street displaces residents; no injuries reported

Residents of an apartment building at 55 Taylor St. were forced from their homes early Sunday morning after a fire that started in exterior wiring spread into the structure, officials said.
Firefighters were dispatched around 6 a.m. and arrived to find flames moving from outside electrical wiring into the building’s interior. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading through the walls and attic spaces, the Waltham Fire Department said.
Heavy smoke and fire damage affected multiple apartments, prompting firefighters to ventilate the building and check for hot spots. Residents were evacuated as a precaution. While some reported property losses, no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire officials said more information will be released as it becomes available.
