Firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze Wednesday evening in a third-floor bathroom of a mixed-use building on Newton Street, officials said.

Crews responded around 5 p.m. on Feb. 18 to 303 Newton St., where they found a fire in a three-story brick building above storefronts, the Waltham Fire Department said. A second alarm was struck, bringing Tower 1 and Engine 2 to the scene.

Firefighters encountered moderate smoke conditions and contained the fire shortly after arriving. No injuries were reported.
