Waltham men plead not guilty to cocaine trafficking and drug distribution charges

David Paul Ganley Jr., 49, homeless, of Waltham, and Angel Joel Prats Diaz, 28, homeless, of Waltham, pleaded not guilty to cocaine trafficking and drug distribution charges at Waltham District Court on Feb. 11.

Ganley and Prats Diaz were arrested following their involvement in an alleged drug deal on Feb. 10. This came after several months of surveillance based on an anonymous tip received in December. Police found cocaine, fentanyl and Xanax in the pocket of Prats Diaz’s jacket. 

Both Ganley and Prats Diaz were charged with distribution of a Class B drug, cocaine trafficking over 36 grams, possession with intent to distribute a Class E drug, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Judge Ellen M. Caulo set bail at $10,000 for both Ganley and Prats Diaz. Neither made bail and were committed to Middlesex Jail. A probable cause hearing for Ganley and Prats Diaz will take place on March 10.

Additional court actions

Manuel F. Gonzales Armijo, 54, of Arlington, pleaded not guilty to operating under the influence of liquor, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle at an arraignment on Feb. 17. Gonzales Armijo was released without bail the same day. A pretrial hearing for Gonzales Armijo will be held April 6.

The court held a motion hearing for Anthony Auturo Flores, 30, of Lynn, on Feb. 17. Judge Caulo accepted Flores’ motion for a continuance of the trial. A discovery compliance and jury election session will be held for this case on March 31. Flores pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and battery on a family or household member and not guilty to intimidation of a witness, juror, police officer or court official on Sept. 22, 2025.

Stephen McDonough of Waltham is arraigned on Sept. 26 2025.

Caulo rescheduled a probable cause hearing for Stephen McDonough, 60, of Waltham, on Feb. 17. McDonough pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of child pornography and distributing material of a child in a sexual act on Sept. 26, 2025. McDonough is scheduled to appear at Waltham District Court on April 7.
