Snow emergency parking ban starts Sunday at 8:00 p.m.

Due to the major snow storm set to hit Waltham Sunday night, the city has issued a snow emergency parking ban starting tonight at 8:00 p.m.

While the parking ban is in effect, parking is not permitted on any Waltham street. For residents who don’t have a designated driveway, cars can be parked in municipal or school lots. However, cars must be removed from school lots within two hours and from municipal lots within 24 hours of the ban being lifted.

Trash and recycling collection for Monday, Feb. 23, will be delayed by one day for the entire week.

The City Council will hold its Monday meeting virtually and livestream it for residents on the city’s YouTube channel.

Sidewalk clearing is strongly encouraged and per city ordinance, certain property owners are responsible for clearing the sidewalks that abut their property. Please see the city’s snow removal policy for details.

Snow emergencies and parking ban updates are communicated via Waltham’s new emergency notification system. Residents can sign up and get city-wide alerts and urgent notifications via phone, text or email.
