Pedestrian struck by pickup near Waltham Common

A pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck Tuesday morning near Waltham Common, prompting a response from police and emergency crews.

The crash occurred around 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Elm and Carter streets, according to information from the scene. The pedestrian was transported to Lahey Hospital with injuries. The extent of those injuries was not immediately known.

As of about 12:30 p.m., Waltham police remained at the scene conducting a crash investigation. Portions of Elm Street were still partially blocked off as officers documented the incident, and traffic in the area was impacted during the investigation.
