Waltham responders train for active-threat scenarios

Image from the WPD 2017 annual report.

The Waltham Police Department, Waltham Fire Department, Armstrong Ambulance and other public safety personnel have been practicing coordinated response to simulated active-threat scenarios.

The training, which has been taking place at Brandeis University over the past few weeks, included staging areas, rescue task force operations and coordinated medical response while law enforcement secured the scene. The exercises were designed to be hyper-realistic so responders could practice working together during complex incidents.
