Rev. Aurel Dely, 1947–2026, pastor at Siloam Church of God in Watertown

Aurel Dely’s life was centered on his family and his faith. It was his deep faith that ultimately led him home on Thursday, March 12, 2026. He passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 78.
Aurel Dely was born on March 23, 1947, in Delmas, Haiti, the son of the late Alongene and Cherisma Dely. Raised and educated in Haiti, he married Yanick Jean-Philippe in 1975 before immigrating to the U.S. to build a life and future for his family.
As an immigrant worker, he labored tirelessly to provide for his family both in the U.S. and in Haiti. After settling in Waltham, Massachusetts, he began working at G.T.E. Corporation and later served for many years as a mental health worker at the former Walter E. Fernald School.
Rev. Dely devoted his life to ministry, faithfully serving as a pastor at Siloam Church of God in Watertown, Massachusetts. Known for his dedication, humility and spiritual leadership, he was later elevated to Bishop.
In addition to his beloved wife of 51 years, Yanick, he leaves his children, Billdickson R. Dely (Heather), Natalie Marin (Clayton), Betty Broadnax (Adrian), and Rachel Dely. He was a proud grandfather to Alizah Dely, Apollodickson Dely, Aresdickson Dely, Atlasdickson Dely, Layla Marin, Kaylee Marin, Claymar Marin, Caius Broadnax, and Doss Broadnax.
He is also survived by his siblings, Elmina McCullough and Christiana Rosenberg, as well as many loving nieces and nephews and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his siblings Philogene, Xavier, Alena, Olande, Germaine, Theresa-Dieumela, Etienne and Anise.
Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Rev. Dely’s life on Saturday, March 28. Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at New Covenant Church of Cambridge-Waltham, 527 Main Street, Waltham, followed by his funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
