Emergency crews put out brush fire near Charles River

Waltham and Newton fire and police units responded to the area of the Upper Charles River Reservation for a reported brush fire around 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Crews initially had difficulty accessing the location due to the terrain, but were able to reach the area and quickly bring the fire under control.

According to officers on scene, the fire is believed to have been accidentally started by juveniles using a lighter.
