‘Summer on the Farm’ returns with discounts for Waltham families 

Waltham Fields Community Farm is offering discounted registration for select weeks of its popular “Summer on the Farm” program for Waltham residents.

The program runs from late June through August at the farm’s 240 Beaver St. campus and provides hands-on learning in a community-focused, sustainable agricultural setting for children in grades 1-8.

Discounted spots are currently available for the following sessions:

• Week 3: July 6-10
• Week 4: July 13-17
• Week 7: Aug. 3-7
• Week 8: Aug. 10-14

Children will get to experience the daily life of a working farm, helping grow and harvest food while learning about insects, composting, plants, trees, soil health, nutrition and pollinators through hands-on activities.

Led by a team of educators, each session also includes games, art projects, science experiments, animal interactions, water play and cool-down breaks with popsicles and popcorn.

Young farmers will roll up their sleeves to harvest the fruits and vegetables they helped grow, taking home fresh produce and farm snack recipes. 

The program also features specialized roles for older kids, such as an Educator in Training option for 11–13 year olds.

WFCF is a nonprofit organization. The farm distributes up to 20% of its organic harvest through food security initiatives, including subsidized Community Supported Agriculture shares, its Mobile Outreach Market and the VegRx program.
