Free vaccine clinics at Waltham schools

• Friday, Sept. 18, 2026 — From 3 p.m. at Waltham High School, 554 Lexington St.
• Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026 — From 3 p.m. at McDevitt Middle School, 75 Church St.
• Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026 — From 4 p.m. at Whittemore Elementary School, 30 Parmenter Road

School requirements

Waltham follows the state’s school vaccination requirements. According to the Waltham Public Schools website, students must have immunization records showing they have been vaccinated for:

• Hepatitis B – 3 doses
• DTP – 5 doses
• Polio – 4 doses
• MMR – 2 doses
• Varicella (chicken pox) – 2 doses or record of natural disease documented by a physician
• Influenza  – 1 dose; received annually by December 31st of each school year

Medical exemptions are allowed if a licensed physician certifies in writing that a vaccine is medically contraindicated or dangerous to the child’s health. This requires annual renewal at the start of the school year. 

Religious exemptions are allowed if a parent or legal guardian provides a written statement that the vaccination conflicts with their sincere religious beliefs.
